Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MyHouseHold (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MyHouseHold is a household management application that allows users to create and share to-do lists, grocery lists, notes, recipes, meal plans, place wishlists, and pantry inventories with household members. The Service may include free and premium features.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • All activities that occur under your account.
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access.

4. Household Sharing

When you create or join a household, data you add (lists, notes, recipes, etc.) may be visible to all household members. You are responsible for the content you share. When you leave a household, shared content may remain accessible to other members.

5. Premium Subscription

Some features require a Premium subscription:

  • Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe.
  • New users receive a free trial period as indicated at sign-up.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal.
  • Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable law. Where no law mandates a refund, subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Share content that is harmful, abusive, or violates third-party rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users’ accounts.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service.
  • Abuse AI features (excessive requests, prompt injection, generating harmful content).

7. AI Features

The Service uses third-party AI providers (OpenAI) for certain features such as recipe suggestions and cooking assistance. AI-generated content is provided “as is” and may not always be accurate. You should verify AI-generated recipes, especially regarding allergens and dietary restrictions.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the content you create. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your content as needed to provide the Service. The MyHouseHold name, logo, and application code are our intellectual property.

9. Data & Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We take data protection seriously and comply with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR for users in the European Economic Area.

10. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for any downtime or data loss.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyHouseHold and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive (liability, intellectual property, dispute resolution) will survive termination.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of France. For users in the EU, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence also apply. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of France, without prejudice to your right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
